Hangar Sisters was founded by Lauren and Cat Stevens in 2021. Based at the Long Beach Airport, we provide rental space for airplanes and offer comprehensive services including aircraft management and sales. Since our inception, we have managed over 20 aircraft, accommodating both long-term and short-term tenants. With almost a decade of combined experience, we are your go-to for your aviation needs.
Our aviation story goes way back, long before we were even born. Both our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents were pilots of some sort. Our father, Mike Stevens, was the epitome of an aviator. He was rated in Learjets, Citations, and could fly basically any turboprop, with one of his favorites being the Conquest. He was also an aircraft dealer and started Plane Fax, our aircraft advertising business, in 1989. Growing up, we always admired our dad’s passion for aviation and loved being his co-pilots on family trips. Aviation was in our blood, evident from a young age as we’d often fight over who got to ride right seat with Dad.
In September 2019, our father passed away unexpectedly. We inherited his business, Plane Fax, a leading online advertising platform serving aircraft dealers worldwide. Losing our dad and running Plane Fax was overwhelming, but it proved to be an opportunity to develop a vision for the future. This vision led us to launch Hangar Sisters in 2021, continuing our family legacy in aviation. Our company leases hangar space to aircraft owners and oversees aircraft management at our KLGB hangar. Following in our father’s footsteps, we are also expanding into aircraft sales, bringing our expertise and dedication to a broader range of aviation services.
Lauren studied Strategic and Corporate Communication and Business Administration at Chapman University. She is an instrument-rated commercial pilot currently training to become a Certified Flight Instructor. Within Hangar Sisters, Lauren wears many hats: she coordinates aircraft management and sales, oversees operational management, and drives project growth and development. When Lauren isn't at the hangar, you can find her spending quality time with her family, on snowboarding trips, or flying over the beach during sunset.
Cat is an aviation enthusiast with a background in Journalism and Business Administration from CU Boulder. She is currently working towards earning her private pilot’s license. At Hangar Sisters, Cat plays a pivotal role, overseeing aircraft management, coordinating sales, managing operations, and leading marketing initiatives. What she loves most about the aviation community is its tight-knit nature. Outside of her work at the hangar, Cat enjoys hiking with her dogs, swimming at the beach, or exploring local thrift shops.
